# Swipe Back

Swipe sideways, or hold Back for your history.

a browser's swipe to go back, three ways: safari slides the page, chrome holds it still behind an arrow, and android shrinks it into a card. hold back for the whole history, and follow a different link to fork it.

key insight: one number is the position in history, and each gesture is a different reading of it. the release only has to send that number to a whole page.
