Tide Card

press Check the tide and the button opens into a live tide: the station, the height now, and one cycle of water under a marker that creeps along it.

key insight: the button is not replaced by the card, it is the card cropped to its title. one box, one ground, one label, and the whole morph is that box's overflow-hidden opening. the rows and the chart are laid out at full size the entire time the button is a pill, so nothing mounts and nothing can pop.

the content arrives by coming into focus rather than by fading, since a blur is distance where an opacity is existence. three curves carry it: the box leaves at 2.25 times its own average speed, a row's slide is the sharpest ease-out in the piece, and a rack of focus is plain ease.
