Flip Clock

Press a card to set it forward by one.

a flip clock in 24-hour time. when a number changes the top half falls forward through 180 degrees as a real flap and lands on the stop with a bounce.

key insight: the flap's front is the old number's top and its back is the new number's bottom, pre-turned 180 degrees, so the card reads right on every frame of the fall and nothing fades or morphs.

a half is a full glyph box clipped to half a card, so both halves of both numbers meet at the hinge to the pixel whatever the glyph is. the cards carry a hue because black hid every bit of the depth pass: a sheen and a shadow on near-black are the same near-black.
